Drawing, Drama, Drums: Treating Trauma & Dysregulation
with Intermodal Expressive Therapy

This 6-hour master class will include a brief overview of neurological-psychophysiological theory as it pertains to emotional dysregulation resulting from the impact of trauma. We will demonstrate a model for treating trauma and affect dysregulation that includes a range of expressive arts modalities including: visual art, music, movement, playback theater and ephemeral art making. We'll focus on intermodal transfers starting with material in one modality and exploring it further/more deeply by re-expressing it in another modality to demonstrate the power of this multimodal approach, which can be used with a wide range of therapeutic issue, disciplines, and populations.
